Sincere Questions for My Calvinists Friends

1: Why preach ‘repent or perish’ when the non-elect can’t repent and the elect can’t perish?

2: How can God hold the non-elect responsible for ‘not believing’ and damn them for it, when He deliberately did not give them the faith to enable them to believe in the first place?

3: If Christ has already made an efficacious atonement for the sins of an elect person, is that elect person actually lost during the period prior to their being saved?

4: During the period before an elect person gets saved, how are they condemned already (for not believing) when their unbelief (which is a sin) has already been paid for by Christ on the cross?

5: If repentance is a gift only given to the elect, what did Jesus mean when He said that some of the people in hell would have repented if they had had the same opportunity as the people to whom He preached?

6: Why does the Spirit of God strive and convict some sinners who later prove, by dying and going to hell, that they were non-elect? What is the purpose of such movings of the Spirit?

Celebrity Preacher Follower?

Sometimes when I quote one of Jesus’ “tough”, “religiously incorrect” statements, some church folks, who it seems suffer from selective outrage syndrome, will snarl something like, “Who do you think you are Glenn, to disagree with________________ (insert name of celebrity preacher here)?”

My question, “Who does aforementioned celebrity preacher think he is to disagree with Jesus?”

And what’s more, “Who do you think you are to take the word of some millionaire, private jetting, mansion dwelling, snake oil selling, Bible denying, religious huckster over the words of the Creator of the universe??”

Maybe they’re right and I’m just ornery.

Ps Happy New Year

Growth & Power!

Many Christians backslide because this truth is not clearly taught. Some are unable to stand against temptation or their old nature.

Though they strive to do their best to fight against sin and to serve God, they have no strength. They have never really grasped the secret that the Lord Jesus will continue His work in the believer every day from heaven. But there is one condition: Time alone with the Lord Jesus each day is the indispensable condition of growth and power.

A Hard Pill To Swallow

“A Hard Pill to Swallow”

Deut 28:63

And it shall be, that just as the LORD rejoiced over you to do you good and multiply you, so the LORD will rejoice over you to destroy you and bring you to nothing; and you shall be plucked from off the land which you go to possess.

Israel is God’s special people, they were given abundant blessings and honors, that are seen, in the first few verses of our chapter. God did not just set them free from Egypt, to live an ordinary life, they were to be blessed in abundance, so they can bless others, and enjoy life in the promised land, and, find rejoicing in God, in this life.

However, with the promise of blessing, came the promise of cursing. To read of the cursing’s that would come, if they disobeyed God, was a hard pill to swallow. To be once a great people thru obedience and then, become nothing thru disobedience, would be truly a shock, not only to many in Israel, but a shock to many Nations around them.

Jesus said in Jn.15:10-12, “If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love. (11) “These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full. (12) This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.”

For us today, it is a joy to love God and be loved by Him; may we not find ourselves obeying and keeping His commandments, to be Loved by God, but, obeying because we love God. May we be found as Christians, who truly follow His Word, in all we think and in all we do, and may we never ever forget, how much God loves us.

“Father, we may forget many things, please help us to never forget, that Your goodness leads us, to repentance, and this goodness comes from a loving Heavenly Father, who just loves and cares for His kids, we ask this in Jesus name, Amen.”

Christ Has No Body But Yours!

Happy Sunday beautiful people of God!

I was checking online today and I literally stumbled on some powerful, anointed words, worthy sharing.

There are words penned by David Ogden in 16th Century. I hope they inspire you to continue to work for the cause of Christ much more than you already are.

“CHRIST HAS NO BODY NOW BUT YOURS”

“Christ has no body now but yours. No hands, no feet on earth but yours. Yours are the eyes with which He sees. Yours are the feet with which He walks. Yours are the hands with which He blesses all the world. Yours are the hands.

Christ has no body now but yours. No hands, no feet on earth but yours. Yours are the eyes with which He sees. Yours are the feet with which He walks. Yours are the hands with which He blesses all the world. Yours are the hands!”

Have a blessed Sunday. Thank You!
