The Discipline Of Spiritual Tenacity!

“Be still, and know that I am God.” Psalm 46:10

Tenacity is more than endurance, it is endurance combined with the absolute certainty that what we are looking for is going to transpire. Tenacity is more than hanging on, which may be but the weakness of being too afraid to fal off. Tenacity is the supreme effort of a man refusing to believe that his hero is going to be conquered. The greatest fear a man has is not that he wil be damned, but that Jesus Christ wil be worsted, that the things He stood for – love and justice and forgiveness and kindness among men – wil not win out in the end; the things He stands for look like wil -o’-the-wisps. Then comes the cal to spiritual tenacity, not to hang on and do nothing, but to work deliberately on the certainty that God is not going to be worsted.

If our hopes are being disappointed just now, it means that they are being purified. There is nothing noble the human mind has ever hoped for or dreamed of that wil not be fulfil ed. One of the greatest strains in life is the strain of waiting for God. “Because thou hast kept the word of my patience.”

Remain spiritually tenacious.

Helpless?

Pearl of Wisdom: You have probably heard people say that God helps those who help themselves. The truth is, God helps the helpless. Trust Him when life throws you a punch.

Faith!

Faith is not intelligent understanding, faith is deliberate commitment to a Person where I see no way.

Are you debating whether to take a step in faith in Jesus or to wait until you can see how to do the thing yourself? Obey Him with glad reckless joy. When He says something and you begin to debate, it is because you have a conception of His honour which is not His honour. Are you loyal to Jesus or loyal to your notion of Him? Are you loyal to what He says, or are you trying to compromise with conceptions which never came from Him? “Whatsoever He saith unto you, do it.”

The Lord Is Waiting For You!

‘I want to remind YOU that in the last days there will be SCOFFERS who will laugh at the truth and do every evil thing they desire. This will be their argument: “Jesus promised to come back, did He? Then where is He? Why, as far back as anyone can remember, everything has remained exactly the same since the world was first created.

” They deliberately forget that God made the heavens by the Word of His command, and He brought up the earth from the water and surrounded it with water. Then He used the water to destroy the world with a mighty flood.

And God has also commanded that the heavens and the earth WILL BE CONSUMED BY FIRE ON THE DAY OF JUDGMENT, WHEN UNGODLY PEOPLE WILL PERISH. But you must not forget, that a day is like a thousand years to the Lord, and a thousand years is like a day. The LORD isn’t really being slow about His promise to return, as some people think.

No, He IS BEING PATIENT FOR YOUR SAKE. HE DOES NOT WANT ANYONE TO PERISH, SO HE IS GIVING MORE TIME FOR EVERYONE TO REPENT. But the day of the Lord WILL COME AS UNEXPECTEDLY AS A THIEF. THEN THE HEAVENS WILL PASS AWAY WITH A TERRIBLE NOISE, AND EVERYTHING IN THEM WILL DISAPPEAR IN FIRE, AND THE EARTH AND EVERYTHING ON IT WILL BE EXPOSED TO JUDGMENT. Since EVERYTHING around us is going to melt away, WHAT HOLY, GODLY LIVES YOU SHOULD BE LIVING!’

Worldly movies?

“Turn away mine eyes from beholding vanity; and quicken thou me in thy way.” Psalm 119:37

Can you pray this prayer whilst at the same time in the Cinema indulging in vain entertainments created by worldly people?

How about the other scriptures? Can you pray God for the grace to “Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.” (Col 3:2) whilst in the Cinema, there to be entertained by things which seek to take away your Christian sobriety and set your affections on vain earthly things?

Time would fail me to list all of the scriptures that it would be a contradiction to pray for the fulfillment of, in the theaters of a worldly film. Does this not show you that the Cinema in general is against the Spirit and temper of Christianity?

Sometimes the solution is quite simple!

Sometimes the solution is quite simple.

by Glenn Christopherson

When the Pharaohs of this world tell us not to worship the one true Living God, Moses shows us what to do  Worship anyway (Exod 5-14).

When powerful political forces tell us there are areas off limits to prayer, Daniel shows us how to respond  Pray anyway (Dan 6).

When compromised ecclesiastical powers demand silence on the exclusivity of Christ and His word, the Apostles clearly demonstrate the godly response Preach Christ anyway (Acts 3:18-21)

The Almighty may well bring down empires, part oceans, close the mouths of lions and burst open prison gates to defend the faithful obedience of His redeemed children. But even if He doesn’t Obey anyway.

Silence is unloving!

You probably heard of legalisation of “same-sex marriage” in Ireland a few days ago!
Teach and brainwash the youth. Then, you can control the future and get society to accept wrong as right. This is how same-sex marriage is gaining acceptance. I was discussing this with a young man – who “professes” to be a Christian – in 2013, and I asked him: If you think “same-sex marriage” is right, why wasn’t it legalised before? He answered: Other generations were ignorant!

I DON’T CARE If this offends you, But legalization of “same-sex marriage” DOESN’T make it right. Yes, you can use the unfollow or block buttons, It still doesn’t make it right!

There is no such a thing as “same-sex marriage”.

It seems like “professing christians” are happy and want to see them perish – but the raw truth is “Have you no wish for others to be saved? Then you’re not saved yourself, be sure of that!”

Don’t call a “blessing” what it is not.

My bible doesn’t say blessed are those who are home owners, blessed are those who are college graduates, blessed are those who are famous and blessed are those with money. It says blessed are the pure in heart, blessed are those who are persecuted for the sake of righteousness, blessed are the meek, blessed are those who hunger & thirst after righteousness. I’m not knocking any of those things.. but we give people a false assurance and make them think they’re “blessed” by God and in right standing with Him because they have stuff! When we stand before God..He won’t be impressed by our prestigious title, how many degrees we have, how many records we sold or how big our house was..He will only be concerned with what did we do for Him and His kingdom!
