A blessing !

My Bible doesn’t say blessed are those who are home owners, blessed are those who are college graduates, blessed are those who are famous and blessed are those with money. It says blessed are the pure in heart, blessed are those who are persecuted for the sake of righteousness, blessed are the meek, blessed are those who hunger & thirst after righteousness. I’m not knocking any of those things BUT we give people a false assurance and make them think they’re “blessed” by God and in right standing with Him because they have stuff!

When we stand before God.. He won’t be impressed by our prestigious title, how many degrees we have, how many records we sold or how big our house was.. He will only be concerned with what did we do for Him and His kingdom!

  1. Amen. Many Americans especially are Laodicean, thinking we are wealthy, but Christ says we are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind, and naked. We must know our poverty in order to open the door and let Him into our hearts (Rev. 3:20), THEN He will open the door to heaven (Rev. 4:1) and let us sit on His throne with Him (Rev. 3:21)…

  2. i want to be pure in heart before God…what an awesome feeling and honor…and never want to stop hungering for Him…
i wish i could be more like the one He describes in scripture…working at being changed from the inside, so it’s His work that shows, not my human efforts…good word, thanks for sharing!

  3. Amen!! I haven’t thought a lot about the circumstances in which people say that they are blessed but after reading your post, I was really spurred on to contemplate the things that people often refer to as “blessings”… and yes, many of these things are material and if someone has a large abundance of material possessions, that’s certainly not something that makes them spiritually blessed, it just makes them really rich. It’s definitely much more blessed to respond to God’s grace in being generous with all that we have (regardless of exactly how much that is) and not letting material possessions get in the way of being humble, meek, pure in heart and actively seeking a functioning relationship with God!
