Christianity, Disciple, Home, religion, Sermons, Truth

It is a strange day!

It is a strange day. Churches don’t want their buildings to look like churches because they want the unchurched to think the church isn’t a church. Christians don’t want to look like Christians because that is not relevant to the unchurched. We can’t read the KJV because it sounds too much like the Bible. Churches don’t sing hymns because they sound religious. Sermons should be conversational, lest they sound like preaching. We shouldn’t preach against sins like homosexuality because we don’t want to sound like bigots. When these hyper-relevant folks reach their eternal home I fear it will not look or sound like Heaven.

  1. And because of the duality, people are confused. I really appreciate your delivery of a very important truth. Thank you for your words!

  2. Unfortunately, you have hit the backsliding of Christianity right on the head. I am thankful for a church that still preaches God’s Word and sings from a hymnal. We are not a legalistic, but loving church still reaching out to win souls to Christ.
